Moving

If all went well, you found me again! Well, you found my blog again..
As I told you all before, I'm changing the name of my business from "Alle Taarten" (meaning Every Cake) into Sweet Appetite.
And ofcourse my blogs name had to change then too.
But..I have to admit, I'm not that good with computers. They sort of always end up confusing me. And then I sort of always end up confusing everyone else with my emails, adress switch, etc.

After a few attempts (read 3 hours of attempts) I decided to send all of you who follow me a quick message. Hope you don't mind :) To make sure you found my blog again.
I kind of feel right now like someone from the stone age, but I think, I hope, no, I wish, my move attempts worked...
Did they?

New logo

Besides a new name and a new updated blog, you must have noticed my new logo! I'm so happy with it!
It was designed especially for Sweet Appetite by Janneke Hoeben; Culinary Illustrator.

Janneke graduated from the Art academy in Utrecht as a fashiondesigner. The collection she made for her final exams was an ode to food: "The seduction of food."
During her career as a fashiondesigner her inspiration almost always came from food. Different colours and flavours during different seasons, Janneke was inspired by it all.

Now, lucky for us, after ten years she started a new career; she's the most talented Culinary Illustrator!

Janneke designed my new logo and I'm so happy with. Besides a very talented and gifted lady, Janneke is also very nice and takes all the effort to understand what you want your design to be.

To see more off her work, check out her website and be suprised! Also, keep an eye on my blog because Janneke and I will team up soon...

Do you also have a Sweet Appetite?

As you all can see, a lot has changed on my blog.
Most importantly, the name of my blog and business have changed!
From the beginning of next year "Alle Taarten" will change into Sweet Appetite.

Why? Sometimes you notice you need a change. "Alle Taarten" means "Every Cake." And I don't make every cake anymore. Also, try to let someone from abroad pronounce "Alle Taarten." It's almost impossible :)

Deciding on a new name wasn't easy. Then one day, driving in the car, the answer came. It has been so close by already for such a long time. The name was hidden in a sweet, sweet song. Caramel, sung by Chiara Civello (original version is from Suzanne Vega)

Sweet Appetite...

I've listened to Chiara's music in the car driving trough Italy, it was on my Ipod, flying in a plane the first time and keeping me calm :), I have been dancing on it (in my living room then..) for years and I know the words by heart.
And I always have an Appetite for Sweets.

More to come about the name change and other fabolous things soon! For now, let me know what you think about my new business name?

Dutch or English?

A little while ago I started blogging in English. I had doubts, wouldn't my blog be less liked by all the great Dutch readers who come to my workshops, order their weddingcake with me or who read my blog for some other reason?

Under my last post (which was posted far to long ago!) Katja ask why I was writing my blog in English?
Well, it's simple. And it's the reason I'm blogging in English :)

The world is my home! I travelled and met new friends from all over the world! England, France, Italy (mi manca l'Italia!), Germany, the USA, Marocco, Holland, Greece etc. And I'm so happy I did.
I know my friends read my blog, from all over the world. And I love staying connected to them. I love everything they taught me about food and pastry, about friendship crossing borders. About when you share a recipe, a plate, the memory and traditions connected to this food, it doesn't matter which language you speak.

So, I hope you don't mind, but I will continue writing my blog in English for now. And hey, how many blogs do you love to read which are (lucky for us!) written in English? So we can all enjoy them!
